Top Rank chairman Bob Arum didn't seem bothered by Chavez's statement.

"We want the court to declare that we have one more fight with [Chavez]," Arum told Yahoo Sports. "In other words, we're in court as it is now. Now we're going to bring action against Haymon and so forth for interfering with our contract."
Top Rank sued Chavez in federal court, alleging the Mexican star has one more fight on his contract with it, but Chavez insists he's a free agent.

    Finally Arum vs Al.

So he'll go from possible fights with Froch or GGG... to the Rod Salkas of the world?

Yay. Can't wait to see what Al has in store for this career underachiever.
Be honest, Chavez Jr was a mess before Haymon picked him up!

Chavez will be fighting Arum mostly.
Him and Arum will probably butt horns on opponent selection.

Don't know of Jnr has one more fight before the end date or his end date is next year period... expect Bob to fire back though.

should've just taken the one fight agreements

I find those one-fight agreements very unbelievable.

"Look if you want that fight, you gotta sign this extension! Or not."

It's been rumored for months, but now the deal is official. Those close to the negotiations have confirmed to BoxingScene.com that former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32KOs) signed a contract with influential adviser/manager Al Haymon.

Chavez has been inactive since March of this year, when he won a ten round unanimous decision over Bryan Vera in their rematch.
