                Difference is those guys were obviously hurt. No one expected them to get up, but Rubio, to his own admission, wasn't hurt that bad. he simply chose not to go on. This reminds me of the Tor Hammer fight and Lou's decision to let him go

                  Its not his job too, but he does get the fighter fights. Why should he get a man a fight, and continue to invest time and resources into said fighter, for him to go on and quit seemingly hyping up another promoters fighter?

                      rubio took a dive, just like he did against pavlik. journeyman fighters do it all the time. when clottey fights any star fighter he basically does the same. it works because enough fanboys will buy it.
