Here's an unlikely one I was just thinking of, Mayweather vs Hatton. Two prime undefeated fighters and two of the most financially successful fighters of all time. Anyone consider that as a SUPERFIGHT?

I'm not saying it was a great fight but could it possibly qualify as a SUPERFIGHT at the time? Just throwing out there. Probably not, just a thought.

Yeah maybe but like u said about the canelo mayweather fight no one out of boxing really new about that besides the UK obviously.

I think manny cotto / manny oscar did around the same numbers as hatton mayweather.

Joe Louis vs Max Schmeling II was a SUPERFIGHT. A fight the whole world wanted to see (or listen to on radio) and has historical significance.

Hatton brought the welcome wagon to his fights against Floyd & Pacquiao. Freaking crazy.. I'm kinda shocked at how they only managed around 900k buys with Hatton.

MAIDANA brought a great crowd as well the 1st fight.

                    Ali/Frazier I
                    Ali/Foreman
                    Duran/Leonard I
                    Leonard/Hearns I
                    Hearns/Hagler
                    Leonard/Hagler

There have been many great fights since then, but not between legends at the top of their game where it was 50/50, basically, and where it transcended just boxing but captured the imaginations of all sports fans and even beyond.

Mayweather/Pacquaio would be a superfight for sure, or the closest thing we've had in a long time.

I think Mayweather-Pac could've hit 3 million buys at its peak.
