Ray Leonard vs Thomas Hearns
Oscar De La Hoya vs Felix Trinidad
Apollo Creed vs Rock Balboa II
These were SUPERFIGHTS

What fights do you conider superfights of the past?
What fights in the modern era could be superfights?
Obviously Mayweather vs Pacquiao, is that the only one?

Unfortunately not. It's a huge fight in the boxing world but doesn't qualify as a SUPERFIGHT.....but hardly any fights do right now, maybe just Floyd-Manny, sad but maybe true.

Agree the hype was unreal and both were two of the most successful ppv starts at the time. So disappointing.

Good question, I'm not sure. Even though it did huge numbers, people outside of boxing didn't really seem to know about that fight.
