Comments Thread For: Pacquiao: Algieri Will Run, I'll Have To Chase Him Down

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is expecting undefeated Chris Algieri to use his legs, often, when they fight each other on November 22nd at the Venetian in Macau, China. Algieri, the WBO champion at 140-pounds, used his legs and accurate jab to beat Pacquiao's Wild Card stablemate, Ruslan Provodnikov, in June.

Algieri plans to use his jab and movement against Pacquiao, who already is putting together several strategies to slow the undefeated boxer down. He wants to work Algieri over so he becomes more a stationary target for the incoming power punches.

If Algieri stand toe to toe and exchange, him and Ricky Hatton will have something in common.

It will be very interesting watching pac fight a natural mover in his prime in algieri. Props to pac for talking on a different challenge unlike the other guy who keeps fighting flat footed plodders that stand infront of him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a tiny ring for this one. Manny really needs to cut the ring off well in this fight. Algieri is sharp enough to keep popping Manny as he backs up and circles, but when he turns he does tend to be vulnerable.

Manny can definitely clip him with a right hook that has plenty on it at some point, but he's going to need his legs under him to keep the pressure up all night. If he needs to coast and take minutes off at a time like he did quite often against Bradley in the first fight, he could find himself in trouble.

Pacquiao has to have supreme conditioning for this fight. Algieri moves a lot and doesn't get tired. Pac has to go to the body early and counter Algieri's jab to make him hesitant.
