He is bigger than those two, closest thing to a SMW-sized fighter at 160.

I just get annoyed when people act like Murray is so good because of losses to Sturm and broke down Sergio. It's not like he was robbed in either fight.
He didn't lose to Sturm, it was scored a draw. He didn't really lose to Martinez either truth be told. I don't think he beats Golovkin but I'd favor him over the rest of the division.

I thought he lost to Sturm. People at that point seemed to just assume any close Sturm fight is a robbery so they gave Murray too much credit. And yes, he really did lose to Martinez. Sergio got a little lucky, but it sure as hell wasn't clear or anything for Murray.

Who cares how big he is? Doesn't stop him from looking bad against mediocre competition.

His size just makes him a bigger target. It'll be like cow vs a great white shark. 12 KO's in 30 fights and only one win over a top 15 MW.

He has a slow bully style that tends to make both his opponent and himself look bad but so far it's worked pretty well.

I just think his defense is too loose to handle Golovkin.

I used to rate Murray highly after his Sergio fight and with all that momentum from that fight he managed to look awful in his fights after it.

            GGG stops Murray middle rounds.

Did u see his last fight? He looked dead mediocre against a C-class fighter.

Probably not something that I'd be bragging about TBH.

It says a lot about the competition Golovkin has been facing then. I don't think Murray is the toughest opponent Golovkin could have. At least not on paper.

You can say the division is weak, but it would look competitive if GGG wasn't in the picture. It's just no one can pose a threat to Golovkin, the only one in the division with such high class experience is Cotto, Martinez, Taylor, and Sturm (I guess)
The HW division would be competitive if Wlad was not in the picture. It doesn't mean there are good/serious fighters there. The American HW's are so fat and out of shape, an 80s-90s CW-HW great (Holyfield) in his late 40s was still in better shape than 99% of American HW's with only Wilder topping him. That's SAD.

At MW, it's not so much about fighters being out of shape, it's just a bunch of guys with poor skills/chins in relation to the rest of the weight divisions. There are currently no RING P4P top 10 MW's. The most highly regarded MW, Golovkin, is probably top 15. The most popular MW, Cotto, is also probably top 15. GGG is dominating a big mountain of garbage. Then promotional/network differences is getting in the way of decent fights like Quillin-GGG which in all honesty is not that great a fight either but I see it as 50-50.

Murray is not worst than Geale. He is better than all three Rubio, Macklin, Geale. Murray will last a little longer Stevens. Stevens used some form of good defense in spots, it helped him last 8 rounds. He fought back a little bit but it wasn't enough. Murray is more durable and has better defense. He also throws more accurately than those 3. He will surely last more than those 3 mentioned above. It would not surprise me at all if Murray goes the distance. At worst he gets stopped in the late rounds like 9-12.
