Goodness what an intelligently reasoned, measured riposte. The very model of erudition is this fellow. Bravo, young man!Joke Alzaghe should just shut his cowardly ******* and pecker smoking sewer hole. Nobody wants to hear anything from a guy who picked the bones of a few ex-big name corpses then "retired" when the going got tough so he could have a Maynever like "undefeated" crutch to live off of. Piss off, Joke.Comment

Nobody should ever have accused Calzaghe of avoiding tough opponents again after he fought Jef Lacey.
When he was IBF champ, Lacy was being talked about in the same way as GGG is today. He was regarded as, without doubt, the best super-middleweight in the world, a fearsome power puncher who would surely destroy anybody who went up against him. The only thing that could stop him becoming the unified champ was that none of the other belt holders wanted to fight him.
But Calzaghe fought him, and he beat him so badly that all anybody said afterwards was "Wow ... Lacey is ****"
Well maybe Lacey was ****. Or maybe he was as good as everybody thought he was till then but Joe just broke him.
Whatever, Calzaghe fought a man that nobody else would fight, and he should get some credit for doing it.Comment

All I'll say about the Hopkins fight is...well I've watched it over a few times and find it very hard to give to Joe. But Hopkins took the shine off a great tactical and technical performance with his ****** play-acting, milking that low blow and all. That's the thing with Hopkins, he's willing to win by any means neccessary, he doesn't entertain really. Great to watch for hardcores and purists of course.
Anyway, whatever, Joe's my man, no matter what you bastards say =]Comment

I find it hard to give it to either of them. Sure I get the people who think Joe didn't win, but do you really think Hopkins did?? What did he do all fight except spoil and play act? He wasn't racking up any points that's for sure. All I'll say about the Hopkins fight is...well I've watched it over a few times and find it very hard to give to Joe. Calzaghe was what? 38 years old when he retired? You cant fault anybody for that, too many boxers go on longer than they should and end up doing more damage to themselves than good. Sounds like youre just bitter that he retired undefeated. Just because some guys stick around well past their prime it doesn't mean everybody has to.Joke Alzaghe should just shut his cowardly ******* and pecker smoking sewer hole.
