Chavez for me. I don't think JMM could discourage him. It's an interesting match-up though. Only Pacquiao has gone to war with Marquez and came out on top.

It would be a war! I can't even pick a winner, but if I have to...I say JMM by split decision in a very close fight (as close as all his fight with Pac.)

Wow, very interesting match-up. I don't think there's a KO in this fight so then you have to wonder what would win, Chavez' offense and attack or JMM's counter punching? I think you have to favor Chavez to sway the judges in his favor.

What makes it so interesting is that Marquez lights people up in the pocket, and that's where Chavez does his best work.

Are we talking as if Julio would come in the fight at...let's say, at 155 lbs...in a 135 lb fight?

If so, then I'll have to give the Julio the edge in this one. Juan IS a force at 135, but I think it would be too much size and pressure for him.

Who has JMM fought with THAT much of a size difference, whom walks guys down? JMM is my dude, but this wouldn't be a fight that I'd like to see him in.

              Marquez gets stopped within 10.

Roidquez wins via UD but not before dropping him twice.

You're right in your assessment, what would worry me as a Marquez fan is that JMM was getting overwhelmed by Juan Diaz and was dropped by Katsidis at 135. Sure, he overcame the adversity as usual and stopped them but this is Chavez coming at you, a completely different animal. It would be interesting as you pointed out, to see how Chavez would deal with Marquez' combos and counters in the pocket.

Chavez by UD in a war.
Marquez gets dropped a few times.

so a guy thats never been stopped by more athletic and stronger opponents gets stopped.

                    sound reasoning.
