Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. To Meet With Lawyer, Wants Froch Fight

Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. plans to meet with his attorney, Howard Weitzman, this coming Friday to discuss the future of his career. Weitzman once represented the interests of the legendary Sugar Ray Leonard and Magic Johnson.

Chavez Jr. said the door is not closed to anyone, especially WBA/IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch of Nottingham. There was talk of a fight in January between Chavez and Froch, but the Mexican boxer has yet to solve his contract dispute with Top Rank.

Jr. doesn't sound like someone who is desperate to fight.

For the good of boxing, I hope Froch sleeps this clown

They could not be any more different in terms of work ethic

And Froch had to earn everything the hard way. Spent most of his career on the outside looking in, in terms of being a big draw. Jr. was born with a name and spoon-fed a title
