A lot of people mentioning Froch and it's a great pick, really is. Personally I thought Bute would beat him, I thought AA would beat him and that Pascal would hurt him and possibly stop him.

Other names I can think of are:
Canelo - expected Trout to outbox and outwork him and although it wasn't a convincing win, Canelo showed power and grit, which he completed against the supposedly superior Lara.

Wlad - after his second KO loss I was like this kid is done...since then he has gone on to become the greatest heavy of his generation.

Lee Selby - the guy always had a good amateur pedigree but I didn't expect him to become a world class boxer, but he is and in a very competitive division.

Adrien Broner - I thought he'd be knocked out by now.

Marco Maidana - going into the fight with Broner I thought he'd be totally outclassed, outboxed and KO'd. My opinion of Maidana at the time was, a pressure fighter with good power and stamina but lacking good boxing skill. He really proved me wrong with his incredible performance against Broner - where he used not only power and aggression but good offensive and defensive skills as well poise and determination

Broner has met my expectations. An action fighter and not a superstar. I wish the people behind him could just let him be that, a fun fighter in fun fights. He has more chance of becoming the next Gatti than the next floyd.

It felt good after Froch beat Bute up for those few of us who picked him.

Bernard Hopkins's entire career since Trinidad. And he might do it again next week.

It's funny cuz when the fight was made I was telling my Romanian acquaintances that "Bute will get his Bootay exposed". They were casuals fans at best and were mesmerized by his undefeated record like it meant something. Good times.
I still think that stylistically Froch was a bad matchup. BUTE didn't have a great chin or defense and Froch got to him. In the few rounds they fought, Bute showed that he could hang. It's just that Froch took advantage of the intangibles that Bute didn't have.

Of course being Romanian and our country never having a whole lot of popularity in sports I'll defend him to death. I think he'd do a better job against Ward than Froch did, but his defense has always been disturbing.

Kell Brook. After Caron Jones beat him around the ring I was sure he was a hypejob.

Paul Malignaggi. Always been a fan, never thought he'd win one title let alone two.

Tony Thompson. Nice little career he's having.

Dont forget Nate Campbell. Didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of beating Diaz. But he did.

Maidana has to be on top.

Danny García, and Timothy Bradley too.

Maybe Kell and Porter, but still, I have to wait to see more of them.
