The lineal champion designates the man who beat the man. You can only lose that designation by losing in the ring, moving to another weight class, or retiring. Inactivity does not change the fact that Ward re-established the lineage at 168.Comment

The rules only apply to whoever the alphabets decide they apply to. The WBA and WBC are by far the worst when it comes to this.Comment
