Calzaghe's next fight: Roy Jones Jr at the Millenium Stadium

I think it'll be nip and tuck and a sure fire twelve rounder. JC is made for RJJ and Joe will love being in the ring with someone whose skills actually exceed his own, this will be a great fight JC has a dodgy left hand and doesnt have one punch power so RJJ will be more inclined to be a bit busier and stay in range, that being said if his reflexes really are slowing Joe will take the decision, if 'old skool' RJJ turns up he wins.

Ok, here is what I'm thinking off the top of my head, like I said, early prediction.

1. Joe is SMW and the fight will most likely be his first fight at 175. Roy is old hat at 175.

2. Lacy truly believed he was the better fighter, and went in looking for a KO. Roy is not going to look for a KO, is not going to stay in range like Lacy did. Roy will be in and out of range and potshot.

3. Roy will have infinite counter-punching opportunities, because of how active Joe is. Tarver was built to give Roy problems and always would have- defensive-minded, good jab, doesn't open up much, etc. Joe is the opposite of all of that. Joe throws 90% power punches and is open to being countered very often.

Fair enough man, i hear what you're saying, i still don't think it takes away the fact that Jones has been a shell of himself, but it would be good for boxing if he did rediscover some of his form and gave Calzaghe a good fight. i just hope he doesn't hurt himself.

What did Roy look like in his last fight with Tarver was it competitive or was he just looking to not get knocked out?

..... I think it will be close, either way. No stoppage. But I give the advantage to Roy on paper, so far. Roy's problem is mental anyway. When he opened up in Tarver 3, then he was really in another class above Tarver, it's just that he is a little shell-shocked and doesn't like to tear-it-up like he used to. I actually don't think he's slowed down as much physically as he has mentally. This is just the kind of fight that might pysche Roy right back to an old-school performance.

I like Roy, so maybe a bit of wishful thinking? hehe.

If this happens, I may actually fly over and see this. What an event it would be...

A fight at the millenium stadium is a bigger spectacle than anything that America can offer for this fight. Joe can start a big time comeback for boxing as a mainstream sport again in this country, Frank Warren doesnt want to waste that opportunity.

1) "American" is not a race.
2) If people can't deal with the truth, too bad. The United States is the Mecca of boxing right now, and has been for a while. If you deny this, you're in denial, not anyone else.

You can take it ass arrogant if you wish. It's just the truth.

Maybe I forgot to add '******' as well. Race's aren't just the colour of skin, heck the Catalans, Basques and Spanish all look the same however all 3 are very different races of people...

As in I can't deal with the US being the Mecca of boxing, well that's abit daft because it has been for years. I was challenging the view that Calzaghe may not of fought in America but has fought in a dam side more countries than RJJ, Tarver, Hopkins, et al have fought in together!!!

Isn't prize fighting all about going fighting wherever you can get the most money, thats why I dont get this come to America if you want to be great, its ****e. Ricky Hatton and JC are always going to make more money over here, unless the top fighters flat out dont want to face them here then they will have to go to the states like Hatton is doing if he ever wants Mayweather, if Jones wants to go to Wales to fight then good luck to him, no problem.

RJJ will win this fight the reason he lost against Tarver and Johnson was because he lost confidence and played too cautious and got knocked out. The third fight with Tarver was ****** he just wanted to see if he could not get knocked out. JC is not a power puncher Jones wont have a problem with going at him cause he aint scared of his punching power. RJJ beats JC with KO in the tenth round.
