Algieri's jab is fairly sharp, although obviously it hasn't been tested against a fighter on Pac's level. If he leaves it hanging out there at all Pacquiao will make him pay of it.
I think Algieri is very capable of landing on Manny though. It's just that he's also fairly hittable himself.
good luck. algieri has a huge reach. i think it's close to 80".
it amazes me that someone as tall, rangy and big as algieri can even make 140.
It shouldn't, Chris is very diligent about what goes in his body as well as exercising. His youtube channel has exercises and how-to's for keeping a healthy body.
Just get this fight over with...knock him out or you are going to lose..Arum wants to try to build Algeri up
Can't see Pac knocking him out. I think Algeria has a very good chance at winning a decision, whether or not the decision Is legitimate or a gift Is another matter.
Pac has mastered the art of taking away the jab. He slips it, ducking to his right while countering with a quick, crisp straight left. Every fighter who has tried to use the jab as their main weapon against him since '08ish has learned this lesson the hard way.

In general I agree with you, he counters the jab very well. But I think a tall fighter boxing off the back foot could give Manny problems with a sharp jab.
The key to this fight will be how Algieri reacts when Manny commits and steps in. Will he be able to time Manny well enough and catch him, or is his footwork good enough to take him around Manny and put in position to let his hands go?
I think he's sharp and accurate, but he's open to counters and I think Manny will catch him a lot. It could be a fun fight if Algieri decides to stick and trade.
I would not worry about the jab anymore. Sure, fighters of the past used to win fights with it but we are not in the past anymore. Judges don't give fights to jabbers, for good reason. They're gonna give it to the guy that landed the most clean, effective punches that impressed the crowd. Algieri can jab all he wants, he's not getting a decision against Pacquiao by jabbing.
The only fighters who you should be aware of their jab are power punchers. But these featherfists like Algieri and Malignaggi the can't beat elite fighters wit their jabs.
