I think if was KO'ing fools that would be the case, but as you pointed out he looks below normal at times like the Dawson fight, and you can clearly see he applies strategy to his fights so he gets the pass.

Crazy to think he is 49 and still fighting at this level

We gonna see what this Kovalev dude got can't deny he has power but he has never been past 8 rounds although if i remember I think Bernard was dropped early against Pascal so we will see...

I still favor B Hop but damn man pushing 50

Can Hopkins take a licking and keep on ticking?

Can Kovalev impose himself on Bernard? I just hope Sergey throws punches and doesn't try to beat Hopkins at a juking match. Buss his head.

There's nothing Kovalev can do in this fight, the guy was handled by GGG in sparring, what will an ATG technician like the alien do to the man?

I'm calling a Hopkins win by KO.

Kovalev has to fight at distance with a disciplined jab and throw bombs judiciously. Bernard is a Master at stifling aggressive fighters by clinching to limit exchanges, inside or mid-range. Then as his opponents become frustrated and lose focus, he'll change it up and sneak in lead rights to win rounds. At his pace.

It's really hard to nail Bernard's head cleanly so going to the body from the get go is the better option for Kovalev.

But the pace is critical. Kovalev has to make Bernard feel like an old man. Not sure he can do this before burning out himself.

Has Hopkins ever lost a fight as the underdog?? was he the underdog with Dawson?

Hopkins hasn't stopped anyone in 10 years and has never stopped anyone at 175. Is there some reason you think he's gonna start now?

If any fighter In the sport deserves respect It's Bernard Hopkins. His work ethic and willingness to fight top notch competition Is second to none.

It's fine to not like a particular fighter but respect Is another matter and he has earned and deserves that to say the least.

The underestimation of Hopkins makes me smile. I really believe the old head will beat Kovalev and once again people will have to retract their statements and be humble.

The ignorance of these wave fans reminds me of the newly announced battle rap comp between Dizaster and Cassidy where a lot of these casuals are calling the legend the underdog when he has already proven what he brings to the table, even when they are undefeated at their craft.
