As the weeks go by, more people are selecting WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (25-0-1, 23KOs) to take out IBF/WBA champion Bernard Hopkins (55-6-2, 32KOs), which in turn would likely cause the retirement of the 49-year-old veteran.

Hopkins is used to being the underdog. He was underdog to Felix Trinidad, Antonio Tarver, Kelly Pavlik and some even had him as the betting loser to Winky Wright.

BHop isn't stopping anyone. He's going to try and frustrate Kovalev, clinch him and turn him because the experts all point out Kovalev needs to be set in order throw his punches. Cloud, Murat, and Shumenov all stood and stared at this guy juking them, while Sergey will be satisfied to just **** on Bernard's arms. He might drop Kovalev with a flash knockdown or two (as Bernard has a tendency to score these and Kovalev has a history of suffering them), but I expect Kovalev to really wear on Hopkins and expect the old man to look for a way out of the fight.

He better get used to being the underdog for a reason, Kovalev is going to put a beating on him. Part of me thinks the main reason for Hopkins making this fight had to do with the lawsuit that Main Events had against GBP. John David Jackson laughs when guys talk about how they're taking Hopkins, he knows what's up.

I guess looking like sht against Dawson kind of killed those rumors...
