Crawford shouldn't have gotten beaten to the punch with the ranginess that he possessed, that's exactly my point. Even with Gamboa's speed advantage, Crawford should have been able to distance himself a lot easier and he struggled to do that for a large portion of the fight. When he initiated he still got caught in the exchanges with punches that had little to no affect because of the considerable size advantage he had, eventually he got careless and was forced to recover. That's no testament to his "intelligence".
Umm a faster guy is going to beat a slower guy to the punch all the time. If gamboa had normal speed and crawford was still getting beat to the punch then yeah that would be alarming but it's ****ing gamboa we talking about here.
Crawford needed time to adjust to gamboa's speed and he actually was able to unlike the rest of gamboa's previous opponents. When you're in with a guy faster than you, you will need a few rounds to adjust and some even can't even if they are bigger. Trust me if floyd ever fights khan he will lose the early rounds due to adjusting to khans speed. Point is you're are making a big deal of crawford getting beat to the punch by a much faster guy. Yeah like that's actually normal bro lol.
Yes...but they are not comparable..one is a ATG,hall of famer..the other was just a prospect last year
A year or so before they fought Floyd, where were these fighter?
Marquez, Guerrero, Ortiz, Hatton, Maidana, Sharmba, ..... Khan next? Even Baldomir? Most hadn't even fought at WW. Some were fighting several divisions below .... Some names would have been laughable if even mentioned as fighting Floyd ....... Most then had a hyped up fight and Floyd marketed them as the next hype and Floyd fans like you defended Floyd's pick like crazy.
To be honest I don't know if the CW benefits Algeiri's natural size advantage. Pac is gonna come in light and tight... less weight more speed. We all know speed is Pac's natural advantage, not his power.

Gamboa's previous opponents struggled with the power as well, at LW it wasn't there and his speed wasn't what it was either. Not just getting beat to the punch consistently early, it was the fact that he is reckless in the exchanges. That said, I'm not saying he isn't a good fighter he is but potential to be great? Hasn't shown that one bit.
Khan-Mayweather is a bad example as they are very close in size.

Reckless? I don't get that term. He was exchanging with a faster guy. He got hit in those exchanges. But guess what that's what he was planning, to lure gamboa to exchange with him knowing he will have the upper hand with his power.
Do you think he will do that to a guy who is not as fast as gamboa? He didn't exchange recklessly and never got hit like that against a dangerous puncher in presscot. Boxed burns ears off. He can force the action or he can box.
