Comments Thread For: Arum: Working With Golden Boy is How Boxing Should Be

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is happy to once again be working side by side with Golden Boy Promotions. For years, the two companies were at odds and the industry called it the 'Cold War.'

The 'Cold War' began to melt when Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer left the company. Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya took charge, reestablishing a relationship with Arum and HBO, where the majority of Top Rank's fighters are found.

The two companies have already put together two matches - Mauricio Herrera vs. Jose Benavidez on an HBO date of December 13th and Juan Carlos Abregu vs. Sadam Ali for an HBO date of November 8th.

Arum is just as bad as Mayweather. He spews his lies, and doesn't care about boxing fans at all. Ex: His infamous statement that undercard fights for ppv don't matter. Or his excuses in '12 for why they couldn't make pac v mayweather- pacs cut, need to build a stadium, I don't know who to contact. This guy is a joke. And everyone knows it

as far as revenue is concerned, his statement is correct. 99% of the time the cost of an outstanding co-feature on a ppv card will not generate enough additional buys to cover the cost of that fight.

This is all floyds fault anyway he refused to work with arum, so goldenboy ****** floyds ass and ended up falling out with top rank in the process. Then floyd turned on gbp when Oscar wanted to make up with arum because he knew floyd wouldn't fight PAC (which is the reason Gbp & top rank fell out) but fighters from his stable still wanted big fights with guys from the other side. So oscar said f it floyds in a lose lose situation anyway cause he'll only fight guys from my stable. But if i still do business with top rank we can make big fights that fans have been wanting for years.

Is that what we were missing all this time, who? vs who? and who? vs who? ?? Let's go back to the Cold War then.
