I agree with Chris Algeri. Anyone who thinks Provodnikov won that fight was just praying for a robbery. You don't get out landed in every round of a boxing match and hope to hang your hat on two knock downs that happened in the first round and a handful of power shots landed for a undeserved victory. Provodnikov being given the decision against Algeri would have been an injustice.
You agree with Algieri that he is somehow levels above Provodnikov? And Provodnikov has to get on Algieris level before he would consider a rematch? Everybody is entitled to their opinion but that's ridiculous.
If you read my post you responded to I said it was far from a clear victory against Provodnikov, I didn't say he shouldn't have won but it was close and not a blowout. My point was Algieri is not levels above Provodnikov and for him to think he is to me is insane.
I don't really see any arrogance in the guy. He seems to be really level headed and down to earth. He is saying all of the right things in my opinion. Boxing, and fighting in general for that matter, is very psychological. Going in to the ring with any thing less than supreme confidence would be a mistake. And he is absolutely correct when he says that people who think Provodnikov won their fight don't know boxing.
The guy basically says Prov is not on his level. Prov has been on a higher level. His fight with Prov was a lucky win for him. Dude is arrogant a fcuk. Care what no one says, he deserved to be destroyed.
Or Pac has no more opponents left at TR and Algeri will win ala Bradley decision
Hes an ESPN fighter and i give him no chance.
its always smart business to have a rematch clause for the bigger star. but yeah this reads like ALgieri is getting a "Bradley decision"-which gives arum an excuse for another year of TR inhouse BS fights.
This Algieri is becoming a little diva since he inched out the victory over Provodnikov. I was happy for the guy after that comeback from behind against Ruslan and then landing the Pacquiao fight. Dude must have forgotten how close he was to losing that Provo fight, especially in the first half. I can't believe he said, "gets onto this level...". After Pac disposes of this dude, the Provo rematch will be the only big money fight available for him and he'll come begging for it. Provodnikov won't make the same mistake twice and I see a quick KO!
Oh my God! This fight must be extremely competitive since Pacquiao needs a rematch clause!!! I'd better run down to the ATM right now and send money to ArScum right now to make sure the PPV doesn't sell out! Screw you Rob. We are streaming this fight.
