I fell asleep after round seven and missed the rest but I had Algieri comfortably ahead at that point, maybe 5-2. He seemed in control so unless something drastic happened later, he probably deserved the decision. As far as this rematch clause, whatever. I'm not dumb enough to buy it even once.

And he is absolutely correct when he says that people who think Provodnikov won their fight don't know boxing.
ya he looks more like a guy trying to prove his worth which he obviously believes is more then the public does but i dont see an arrogant boxer at all.

If Algieri beats Pac legitimately ..*** the rematch! Pac will need to retire. ASAP!

It's already been established... anyone who thinks Provo beat Algieri is in the minority, and it's not even close (the fight was relatively close but it was a clear cut victory IMO).

Algeiri beat Provodnikov legitimately, even if it was a close match. I think, because of that, he deserves the shot but Provodnikov is not Manny. He doesn't have his movement or his unique punching style. All he has is brute force and a bum rush style. Provodnikov was a lot more predictable than Manny should be. This is Algeiri's big chance so I'm not surprised that he's exhibiting a lot of confidence. At the same time, this still sort of seems like "The Has-been vs. The Never Was", the least anticipated Manny Pacquiao fight in over a decade.

pacquiao is ruining his last remaining years fighting in macau vs crap opponents and using catchweights.

why in the world would you need a catchweight vs salka?

Pacquiao has only mostly dominated fighters who came straight at him with no defense or foot work. Marquez was the closes to a pure boxer with the exception of Bradley but Bradley was scared and running from Manny. Over all movement, timing and speed gives Manny problems. Not saying this Algieri guy beats Manny but it might be a little tougher for Manny to look dominant against him.

We'll see what level he feels hes on after Pacquiao levels him.
I agree....still laughing about Provo getting on his level....

Lol. This is the biggest joke of the year. Right?

Why is there a rematch clause? I thought we were trying to get passed this fight and move on.
