  • Comments Thread For: Marquez's Trainer Still Views Kell Brook as Prime Target

Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) has yet to make a decision regarding the future of his career, but his trainer Nacho Beristain has a target in mind if his boxer decides to fight on.

They have no interest in a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao, or a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr., but IBF champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs) is a fight who Nacho would like Marquez to face.

Since 2011, Marquez has been trying to capture a fifth divisional title. The Mexican veteran is mentally set on capturing one more world title before retiring.

Brook "holds a lot" because porter gets inside with headbutts and throwing riduculously wild punches hoping to land 1 in 4!

Khan holds a win over Barrera so it's only fitting that Brook try to match him by beating JMM. That way they each have an all time great Mexican legend on their hit list.

          Let's do it.

Not only will JMM lose, Brook will beat him up.

Wonder what kind of gameplan they'll come up with for a lanky young boxer?

Almost hope this one doesn't happen. I'm a bit of an anglophile and fear a rash of UK suicides should Kell be ktfo.

Fight won't happen because Marquez doesn't want to risk getting caught cheating with PEDs...

Marquez lost to Pacquiao 3 times although he learned to time Pacquiao he only KOed him after looking like the Incredible Hulk with Memo in that 4th fight...

With blood testing the Marquez who fought Bradley shows up...

He'll look ordinary just like Porter did with the blood testing... Unless Memo can cheat the tests which has done in the Olympics with Marion Jones among others...

I say Brook demands random-blood testing and schools Marquez...

Marquez will have to wait until someone abandons a WW title and then he can fight a low-tier fighter without random-blood testing and then win the strap like he did at 140...

I'd keep Brook well away from Marquez.

I'd wouldn't be so quick to write Marquez off. He has a wealth of experience and is a far more accomplished boxer than anyone Brook has ever shared a ring with.

It would be a good test for Brook, but it could turn out to be a sterner one than most seem to think.
