Top 5 fighters in Boxing

He is all time top 5 maybe top 3 depending on who you ask at 130 but above the weight he did not establish himself in another weight enough to say he is top ten all time....Pound for pound I have no problem with someone saying that he is top 20-25 all-time...He definitely has the talent, credentials, title fight success and longevity....Look where a lot of the past greats were at 37 not named Archie Moore or Bernard Hopkins....especially fighters that fought fought in the lower weight class like Floyd....Once they reach 28-30 its downhill.
His level of excellence and dominance over 18 years has not been seen in the sport before and may not be after

Of course. Greatest fighter of his generation. Top 3 welterweight ever. Top 3 Jr. Welterweight ever. Pretty much in the top five of any division he ever competed in. He is worth $420 million bones. The richest man in boxing history including promoters. Lost a step, but is still miles ahead of the competition.
2. Canelo
Canelo's schedule is what sets him apart. He has ducked nobody. He has answered all questions, and the Mayweather fight was technically beneficial for the young Superstar. His points victory over EL stands as the most impressive victory of the year. He did not blow him out ovb, but he won the fight against a supremely gifted boxer that nobody wanted to fight. He risked his earning potential to fight a guy that provided minimal financial upside. In fighting to slick boxers within a year, Canelo has shored up his game. He is more seasoned now. There is but 2 boxers on the planet that can beat this kid right now, at this point in his development.
3. Rigo
I hate his style, I do not appreciate his attitude towards his opponents, but the fact is he is one of the best pure boxers we have seen in a long time. Let alone 2014. His schedule seems set to pick up with a loaded 126 pound division. It would be insane to pick against him in any of those fights. Thats why Nonito wants to go to 122 not 126, believe you me.
4. Manny
Manny is winning, and a champion, so it would be ludicrous to keep him out of any top 5, but I will say, what will happen the next time he has to work? What happens the next time he is really pushed? I think he will be tested next month, Manny has trouble with boxers, and I do not recall him every fighting a tall longer fighter. A victory for Manny will do nothing, a victory for Chris will mean everything, and thats the point. Manny is not taking CA seriously, and he is in danger of losing much more than his title of he does not get it together.
5. Benard Hopkins
Unified Light heavyweight champion at 50. Set to fight the scariest man in boxing, a choice he made, it was not a mandate.
HM
GGG- He is a B fighter until he stops fighting them.
Cotto- Both his recent wins are tainted for different reasons
Tim Bradley- Looked real shaky against Manny

First, and this is what made me realise you're just trolling, how's he a top 3 ATG in a division he's only ever had four fights in? Competing against guys who have had entire careers at 140, beaten significantly better fighters and more of them? You muppet.
Second, how could he possibly be a top five lightweight, also with only four fights at the weight, over Whitaker, Canzoneri, Ortiz, Duran, Joe Gans, Benny Leonard, Ike Williams, Henry Armstrong etc etc? He doesn't even get close to being up there with the top 10-20 lightweights of all time like Ismael Laguna, Barney Ross, Esteban De Jesus, Kenny Buchanan etc. Even who he beat, Castillo, is still a significantly higher ranked lightweight than him, as would someone like Mosley be.
You consider him a greater welterweight than Emille Griffith, Jose Napoles, Luis Rodriguez, Ray Leonard, Henry Armstrong, Tito, Gavilan, Walcott, McLarnin, Ross?
The only division he's genuinely, and clearly, an ATG in is 130. Otherwise it's p4p all the way, which is fine. He's not stayed in any one division long enough or done enough in it apart from 130 and 147, but it's not enough at 147 to rate him a top 3 ATG and the quality certainly isn't.
Having a 147 resume of: Zab Judah, Sharmba Mitchell, Carlos Baldomir, Marcos Maidana, Ricky Hatton, Juan M. Marquez, Victor Ortiz, and Robert Guerrero is good, but it's not 'greatest ever' good.

floyd isn't the greatest fighter of his generation because he didn't fight pacquiao, didn't fight a prime cotto, prime margarito, prime williams, prime mosley, etc.
it's also laughable to say he's the #3 best welterweight of all time hahahahahahahaha.
also canelo the #2 best fighter in boxing today?????? extremely laughable.
canelo's best wins are against trout and lara and neither of those "wins" were very definitive. many people thought lara and trout won.
also wlad is not in the list? roman gonzalez? froch? what a joke.Last edited by Divine Hammer; 10-26-2014, 12:17 PM.
