Comments Thread For: Blackwell Aims To Pound Khomitsky in Monte Carlo

LONDON - Avoided middleweight Nick Blackwell meets fellow dangerman Sergey Khomitsky this Saturday night (October 25) in Monte Carlo and knows full well victory will tee him up for a shot at the British middleweight title in the New Year.

The Trowbridge man has been guaranteed the winner of the November 29 grudge match between Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jr and is eager to get his hands on the prestigious Lonsdale belt. But first he must overcome the considerable threat of Belarusian Khomitsky, who only recently shattered the unbeaten record of Frank Buglioni on these shores.

Headline is a little gay-ish if I might say so myself.

Looking forward to this. I want to see how good Blackwell looks since the Saunders fight, and if he indeed has a rightful claim to the winner Saunders-Eubank Jr.

I'm looking forward to this as well. Albeit for different reasons than yourself.

I see BJS beating Eubank Jnr, then relinquishing. Blackwell/Ryder could be in the equation for the vacant title.

Another British middleweight dark horse who had a very close fight with Bursak. Blackwell doesn't have much amateur experience, he learnt his trade in the white collar boxing scene.

Khomitsky was the man who broke Buglioni's perfect record and gave Murray a tough fight so it'll be a big test for Blackwell.

I never thought of that. Very good British match-up.
