Because outside of Kovalev there are no big PPV fights at 175. Hopkins already said he won' be fighting SOG. So what is the purpose of going to 175?

GGG is supposed to be the next big thing in boxing. A few weeks ago his fans were constantly wanting to see him matched up with a WELTERWEIGHT by the name of FLoyd Mayweather Jr.

So it's ok for GGG and his fans to target a Welterweght (with a hand full of fights at 154 under his belt), yet these same ppl are AFRAID for GGG to move up ONE weight class to fight Andre Ward.

    LMAO!

The truth is obvious. Mayweather is small and old. Ward is in his physical prime and same size as GGG.

    Most GGG fans are PUNKS!

How much of your own hard owned money would you put on any fighter at 175 to beat Ward?? How about I answer that for you. NONE.

Criticizing Ward for not moving up to 175 is just another way for GGG’s COWARDLY fans to avoid the elephant at the table. We all know if GGG was legit he wouldn’t be trying to fight former Jr. Welterweights like Cotto and Mayweather.

GGG doesn’t have the STONES that Mayweather has consistently showed throughout his career to move up and fight the best. Hell, even Adrian Broner showed stones when he fought Maidana in only his 2nd fight at Welterweight. 2 years prior to the Maidana fight, Broner was fighting at JR LIGHTWEIGHT.

Yet Mayweather and Broner receive the bulk of criticism in this forum. I wonder why? LOL!

GGG could easily headline a huge PPV event against Ward in 2015. Instead he’s sticking around for burnt out Jr. Welters and CANELO.

GGG is more hype than Matthyse. It’s just a shame Danny Garcia isn’t at 160. Oh, and do the research if you doubt me, I predicted months before it happened that Garcia would DESTROY Matthyse. Check the archives.

GGG nor his handlers want any part of Andre Ward. We all know why.

He better stick to the Macklins and Rubios of the boxing world.

Fighters like Andre Ward and Bernard Hopkins would embarrass GGG.

Even lil Mayweather will do it if they fight at a weight limit that's FAIR to both fighters.

If not, he can keep quiet, move up and showcase his talent against the bigger guys and earn those big paydays.
He already beat BIGGER guys that were considered ELITE. Stop hating. It's GGG that needs to prove something. Rubio go ko'd like a decade ago by Jantuah at 154 I believe.

GGG is the one that needs to prove himself. Kid Chocolate is the only legit threat at 160 and we're still waiting on that fight. There are no other challenges at 160.

Yet WARD, FROCH, KOVALEV, DIRREL (either one) and even CHAVEZ are fights above 160 that make sense for GGG.

But wait... it's all about promoting GGG so that he can be a potential opponent for that BAAAD MAN named Mayweather. LOL! Everyone pimps themselves out for TBE. LOL!

They were willing to go to 168 to cherry pick JCC jr..... but wont go there for Ward. This is a clear duck. Maybe GGG is trying to protect his 0.
GGG was willing to go to 168 for Chavez because Top Rank put a good offer on the table.

Let us know when Ward makes an actual offer, rather than just running his mouth

The most amazing thing about this thread is that a thread about andre ward has reached 8 pages.

As Floyd fan Kevin Iole writes:

That said, it's not outrageous to suggest that they fight, because Mayweather does hold a 154-pound belt and Golovkin has repeatedly said he could make 154 pounds easily. If you're a 154-pound champion, then you should be ready, willing and able to fight anyone who can make the 154-pound limit.

There was ample evidence presented just last week that proves Golovkin could make it. On the Monday before the fight, he weighed 161 pounds, just one over the middleweight limit and only seven away from the super welterweight limit.
I take it you feel Floyd's big time credentials at SWW are a sham. 2x, unified, reigning, LINEAL champ is below paper grade, right?

Theres a big difference bro. "Welterweight" Floyd is a 3x champion at 154 and GGG said he is willing to go down to jr mw to fight him. Ward isn't willing to go down to middleweight. Nor do I want him to. I'm just point out the difference in the two situations. GGG has the Cotto vs Canelo winner for WBC mw title to fight. And Quillin if he ever grows a pair. Who does Ward have??? Nobody bro. Time to move up.
