Not surprised that there are no comments yet because the thread is very valid. This thread will be avoided like the plague because there ratings come straight out of there ....

Anyone negotiating with Rigo is considered A side according to NSB logic.

It's subjective. Outside of a few obvious guys.

        There's more B C D level fighters than there is A.

How about climbing five plus weight classes, and winning titles in a few of them. Like May, and Pac. That to me is a sign of an obvious A level fighter. Shows they can adapt and mix it up with anyone.

You can't just throw anyone in the a level. That borders the brink of perfection.

There's nothing wrong with being a solid B, C level fighter. Not everyone can be great. But a lot of boxers are good.

Rigondeaux, Mayweather, Ward, Pacquiao...those are the gaurenteed A level fighters.

After that, there is much bias towards and against other fighters which makes the lists a bit spread out.

              I was half asleep last night pondering ze British scene and the fighters coming through. I ranked 'em like;

A* - There ain't a British fighter that fits this grade, these would be the best fighters in the sport P4P e.g Mayweather, Pacquiao.

A - Credible world champion who's beaten at least one other very good opponent. Depending on the depth of the division he might be 'the man' e.g Marco Huck.

B+ - Possibly a world champion, again depending on depth of the division. In days gone by, these would be the best fighters never to win a world title e.g Kell Brook, Herol Graham.

B - Contenders, if they won a title they wouldn't be considered true champions. Most likely won their belt when it was vacated or against other B grade fighters, lose to true champions when they step up e.g Orlando Solido.

Those are world level, outside of that it diversifies into European/domestic. As KOVALEV said, I pulled this out of my arse. The only reason I bothered posting was 'cause I was thinking 'bout this last night and it was fresh in my mind.

I'd say Frazier was Ali's equal at the time so it wouldn't take away from his ranking. If he were to lose to a contender then you'd have to re-think his ranking.

                Good Question!

A Level IMO is just a guy at the top of his game and is just head and shoulders above everybody else in and around his Division. Currently that could be:
                Mayweather
                Ward
                Rigondeaux
                Wlad

I don't see any fighters in or around their division that would be the favorite over them at the moment. Not only that but regardless of their styles, these guys don't JUST win, they dominate and embarrass their opponents and make them look like they're completely out of their league.

Guys next in line that I THINK can possibly reach that Elite Level:
                GGG
                Demetrius Andrade
                Terence Crawford
                Nicholas Walters
                Keith Thurman
                Rances Barthelemy
