kovalev is not a brawler like pavlik. He boxes but has ridiculous power in both hands. If hopkins can take his punch power, then and only then he can win.

Pavlik wasn't a brawler. He is arguably more skilled than Kovalev, even though he didn't have the same amateur pedigree. Kovalev has some skill. But he's basically a crude stalker, with a lil skill, and power. He knows how to cut off the ring, but doesn't always do it. His footwork is awful and he's often off balanced, which is why he was dropped in his last fight. And to me, he appeared rattled and uncomfortable with the roughhouse tactics by Agnew in their fight. And that was child's play compared to what he's gonna see in a few weeks.

Hopkins usually takes a few round to get going, make adjustments and takes over around midway, that being said can he afford to dance with a guy who majority of 23 KO's take place in the first few rounds?

Lyle Loses! Kovalev is not as one dimensional as Pavlik... he has more power and skills! B-hop will be outgunned, and will use WWF antics to get out of the fight alive. Bernard "saw" something... which makes him believe he can win. But he hasn't "felt" the power... THAT will change everything!

Hopkins has finally succeeded in having many swallow the Kool Aid. But this fight is all wrong for him. He can lose by decision OR ko and will get dominated. He's made a rare critical error in his match making and will pay the price. He must be blinded by Kovalev's complexion. Nard WILL be stopped for the 1st time Nov 8.

alot of good points, and kovalevs defense is running straight back on feet that aren't all that fast, if you can nudge him he'll fall over

Nice Article...kinda like Anthony Bourdain wrote it. Im a huge Bhop fan. Living today, hes my #2 ATF fighter. I know him personally, but we too dont exchange X-mas cards or phone numbers. He knows me by name and i do get a chance to talk to him when he visits in Miami. With that said....I think he has taken a giant leap here getting into the ring with Kovalev. He is smart. Slick. has years of experience. BUT...hows that gonna help him when he gets hit? And hes gonna get hit.

Despite the outcome of the fight, Bhop gets much credit for taking a dangerous fight. Like a real champ is supposed to do!!!!! Win or lose hes an ATG. I want Bhop to win and i will be pulling for him to prove all the doubters wrong...(like myself)

I agree. The only risk factor in this fight is when or if Kovalev lands a big shot.
                    Skill vs Skill...Bhop wins it.

i'm going with KOvalev, youth and power, but i still believe hopkins can pulled it off, there has to be a reason why a 50 years old fighter accepted to fight the most feared guy in the division, he might see something we don't, or just simple has tremendous amount of self confidence.
