Comments Thread For: Povetkin on Shannon Briggs Tactics, Freddie Roach's Take

Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin (27-1, 19KOs), who faces Carlos Takam (30-1, 23KOs) on October 24th in Moscow, discussed a number of topics.

Povetkin got his career in order back in May, with a seventh round knockout over the durable Manuel Charr.

Last October Povetkin was dropped four times and lost a twelve round decision to heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko.

I think povetkin should get another shot at wlad. IMO that was one of wlads worst fights. All he did was hit, hold, and lean on top of him for 12 rounds.

He'd get away with the same thing in a rematch. What's the point? No one ever has or ever will stop Wlad from cheating in the ring.

One of the worst title fights ever!!! Reminded me of Ali vs Spinks 2 just a disgrace to offer those performances to the public as a Championship bout.
Just Ali's performances began to slip and he was criticized for it so should Wlad. His fights are boring as hell and he is one dimensional to a fault.
It's past time for him to go, let the limited competition battle it out and hopefully theres a young guy getting ready to get into the sport who bring boxing back to a respectable level world wide!
              Ray.

Povetkin-Wlad fought in that white ring apron. Should have been a blue apron. Would have totally changed the outcome.

Check my profile pic for my real feeling about the whole fight. Let's just say Klit "clinched" the victory

I'd pay 50 bucks to watch a 30 minute compilation video of Briggs harassing Klitchkos and other fighters. I would pay zero dollars to sit ringside to watch any Klitchko or Povetkin fight that didn't involve David Haye.

nah in a rematch with roach in his corner and at least a decent ref that would give a warning or two to wlad
