Should Gennady Golovkin be in the top 10 P4P?

  • Nah, not quite yet. While he's beat a slew of solid B level guys, and fringe world class guys.. He's yet to have that one signature win over a world class opponent.

I gotta wait till he gets that win to put him in there. Although I'd pick him to beat just about everyone from 154 to 168 save Ward (and I'm not sure who I'd pick there honestly), to me, believing is seeing, and it's not fair to give a boxer make believe wins. He's gotta be able to secure a top fight first, adn then win, before I can put him in the top 10 pound for pound.

Floyd fans were upset that I said Rachel Nichols exposed him as a serial wife beater.

They called me the n word, and I responded by saying to stop hating on a _______a. I'm black but I guess only people cool with mods can drop n bombs.

        • So most fans here think GGG should be ranked in the top ten P4P.

I made the same thread on another site, and the result was similar.

Why is Mayweather (the so-called "champ" at 154) ducking Golovkin?

Roberto Duran who started at bantamweight (Floyd started at junior lightweight) defeated the much bigger Iran Barkley at middleweight.

Could P4P #1 Floyd move up and face GGG?

If GGG beat him would he be P4P #1?

            • Yes GGG should be in the P4P top 10. Maybe just inside of it, but inside of it.

His KO streak is too insane too ignore. And it's not like it's against a string of bums. Rubio, Geale, Stevens, Macklin, Rosado, etc...these guys may not be A level guys, but they're far from bums either. And he's dispatching guy after guy like they're a bunch of damn Brian Sutherlands (with all due respect to my idol).

He's a world top ten guy for sure, and with a single impressive win (Canelo or Cotto for example), I think he rockets into the top five. Easy.

His kayo streak lacks depth and quality and out of all those consecutive kayos he only knocked out 2 former world titlist or belt holder, a shot Kassim Ouma and Daniel Geale and the rest were fringe contenders

Look at Wilfredo Gomez, Carlos Zarate, Joe Louis, Ruben Olivarez, Tommy Hearns, Henry Armstrong, and others with long kayo streaks.....these guys were have wins over hall of famers and champions....their kayo rate didn't drop as their competition got stiffer either, just when they got older and moved up in weight

When his comp gets stiffer the kayos will be less frequent like everyone else....whether by a kayo or decision, it still doesn't make the guy standing in the ring better or worse...his competition is not first rate yet.

At this point he is where John Mugabi was before he fought Hagler, we will know he is the goods when someone takes his punch and are coming back with something....Mugabi won his first 25 fights by ko...beat some former champions and contenders but when he faced elite guys he usually failed, I think Hagler took a lot out of him...He did regroup and had an 11 ko streak against marginal comp but lost when he stepped up

GGG has the talent like he did, but you have to earn it....the eye test don't cut it
