Are people still bringing up keith thurman?


The guy has become an ATG for "eyeing" fighters, similar to Leo santa cruz!

Sorta like Kov, GGG, Ruslan, Lucas, and i remember when Trout was the most feared man.

They're wouldn't even be a consideration of Thurman headlining a PPV. Broner reached a wider audience because of his association to Mayweather. When Maidana beat him, it garnered a huge amount of attention beyond hardcore boxing fans and into the mainstream. Broner also had a title belt....

The only reason it got attention is because people didn't like Broner and was happy see somebody beat the crap out of him. Nowadays, Broner isn't talked about nearly as much as he use to be and that's because more people see him for what he truly is...and he doesn't have his 0.

Thurman, on the other hand, is (slowly) getting more attention with his constant KOs and a growing reputation while also being talked about as a possible opponent for Floyd Mayweather.

Also, "beyond hardcore boxing fans"? If that was true, Maidana's matches with Mayweather would have been a PPV success.

A win over Keith Thurman simply doesn't make anywhere near the same kind of splash and it's ridiculous to suggest so.

Because the kind of splash it would make would be much different from what a Broner fight made.

In Broner's case, it was over a hypejob with big mouth that people desparately wanted to see somebody shut up.

In Thurman's case, it would be over a real undefeated welterweight with a reputation of being ducked by other boxers.
