Héctor Zapari of Zapari Boxing has informed BoxingScene.com that Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramírez (29-0) is ready for the top fighters in the super middleweight division. Zurdo is promoted by Top Rank and managed by Zapari and his father Jesus.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn recently stated that if an agreement can be reached for Carl Froch to face Julio Cesar Chávez Jr. that there is a good chance James DeGale fill face Ramirez for Froch's title which would likely have to be vacated if the Brit faces Chavez. DeGale is ranked #1 by the IBF while Ramírez is ranked #3.

Well, he is tall, and strong, and persistent so it is not all bad for Zurdo but he needs more upper-body movement.
