Never make a thread again please.

When did a world champion with a 90% KO ratio and a coveted amateur ever start from zero 20+ fights into his career?

If you don't like my threads don't respond. And what do you know about what "they" Meant?

I think it's a fair question to ask. I.e why would you say someone came with nothing to Falsely glorify an already good story? The guy was a respected amateur and professional champion with an unbelievable record. Hardly "nothing".

He essentially came here unknown. Hell over in Europe he was fighting in front of tiny (sub 500) crowds. It was really strange.

They really turned him around over here. He hooked up with all the right people.

Clearly, if you´re a world champion, you´re not coming with nothing. Please stop this nonsense.
Why keep bringing up Ward in relation to Golovkin?? It makes no sense, whether or not Golovkin came with a stick and nap sack, or millions has no correlation to Andre Ward!

And Golovkin first came to USA in early 2010 with a 18-0(15KO) Record, and no world title, just an inter continental one..

By the way There's plenty of boxers who have had or have world titles that are pretty much destitute.. Manny comes to mind, I believe he won his first in 1999 against Gabriel Mira, Pacquiao was basically homeless at that point in his life! So World titles don't equate dollars!

Not sure I agree. His very first fight in the US was on HBO. Greenburg had already left before Golovkin's Universum problems were resolved, and he had Thomas Hauser backing him up on HBO from the get go. Most foreign fighters would need to be on several untelevised American undecard slots or have several fights on ESPN2 before they get a chance at HBO. (unless they're brought in as an opponent for a name fighter intended as a one off) HBO also backed him up by letting him fight the type of opposition that doesn't really belong on premium cable. This looks like a guy who started at the top in the US, not at the bottom.

And while K2 isn't a big time American promoter, K2 was still the promoter of the mother****ing Klitschko brothers. I assure you Golovkin did not have to work part time jobs to support himself while he worked on his boxing career.

Even that upstate ny date wasn't his, it was Pirogs. Anyway the point is, it took a
Sea change at HBO for him to get a chance, he wasn't gonna be shown under the old regime.

Which opponents of his didn't belong on premium cable? Mostly those in Monaco, not shown on premium cable.

K2 had never promoted anyone successfully in the Us but the K bros.
