Someone name me one world class fighter that DeGale has defeated?

That's right, there isn't one. Other than his last fight, he's looked like absolute rubbish, and even his last opponent was poor.

      Exactly.

OK, Degale is mandatory but to be honest Froch should vacate and look towards Chavez Jnr in Vegas.

Degale is not great IMO, European level at best.

Froch might think about respecting the results of his own poll on his facebook where he asked his fans who should he fight next. His fans voted for GGG via wide margin. That guy IS available unlike Jr. and times when people could say that GGG is low reward are long gone.

          Hindsight, use it.

Do people forget about the great Chunk lying on the ropes, shoulder rolling against European opposition and eating shots? There's been a few fights against sub-par opposition that he's barely sc****d past. But oh, what's this... He stops Gonzales and suddenly that's all forgotten and a fight with Carl Froch actually seems credible.

Froch has a fight or two left in him, do you really want him to waste it against someone like DeGale?

I really hope he gets a fight with Chavez Jr, that would be a war and a fitting way to end his career - win, lose or draw.

@ "sc****d past" - he's been coasting and still been winning comprehensively over the last three years.

Your comments regarding DeGale would have some merit if it related to Ward, Golovkin or Stevenson, but you're talking about Chavez Jr: an inactive, lazy, overhyped fringe contender who most felt lost to Vera last year.

Who had Froch beat that was world class before he fought for a belt? Even Pascal only became a good win after he moved up in weight.

The one loss he has against Groves is debatable, many ppl feel he won that fight, any closer and it would've been a draw and he looks a better fighter now.

I think Froch would get frustrated fighting James. DeGale won't get dragged into a scrap like Groves, he'll be much harder to hit and it makes for an interesting fight. I like Froch, but this would be a risky fight for very little reward.
You say "risky" like if Froch lost to DeGale it would derail his career. He's already thinking of retiring.

Replace the word "risky" with meaningless.

"It would be a meaningless fight, with little reward."

Doesn't that sound much more appropriate?

A loss to DeGale doesn't risk anything, it's taking the time to fight DeGale that is the risk. He risks further deteriorating physically. As he is already past it. He's lookin to go out with a ****, and make some money.

DeGale isn't that ****. He's earned the right to try and cash out. He fought every relevant SMW out there. And beat all of them, but 1.

If this was 2,3 years ago. DeGale fight would happen no doubt.
