because this is a business, if you put Ward and GGG together tomorrow, that will be a business flop , neither have the status of PPV YET, I said YET , its coming , but not YET.

When GGG fights the famous Roach's Cotto the sh*** hits the fan for that great team, my favorite trainer, and GGG will be the instant new ppv star, WARD will have to fight someone to pull that off to be the counter ppv star and then the big business of putting the two best together will take place.

Do I like it , NAW, I don't , I would just as soon to see it next but that ain't happening, hope I am wrong.

I think HBO is trying to force the Cotto-Canelo winner to fight GGG in 2015, I suspect he'll stay at middleweight until that fight happens. I'm hoping he can unify the belts with the Korobov-Lee winner, the Haymon controlled IBF one is a lost cause unless Hassan N'dam doesn't want that Postol-step aside money. Ward for his part needs to build up his brand so the fight can be bigger. Assuming neither man loses, that fight is probably more likely for 2016.

When did they say that? I must have missed it. Is Ward actually cleared to fight?

Here's the thing though, the most "notorious" guys aren't always the best. Cotto and Canelo are being mentioned as possible opponents, and neither have even fought at 160lbs.

Canelo's last 2 fights were at MW and Cotto is also the MW lineal champ

Which is why I said 160lbs.

Cotto fought at 159lbs against a Martinez most Argentinians felt Murray beat a year prior and Alvarez fought habitual JMWs Perro and Lara.

I get that people want to see Golovkin against "names" but those two are really pretenders at MW and will probably fight each other at 155lbs (or maybe even 154 as Roach wants).

It won't be on HBO. Loeffler said last night the Monaco fight won't be on HBO.

Listen to what he says during the post-fight presser.

However, HBO would televise a Chavez-GGG PPV.

Golovkin's next HBO date is May.

Cotto is a MW pretender, he's the champ tho. But Canelo certainly isnt, he literally cannot make JMW. Thats called a MW

I get that, but he hasn't beaten any recognised career MW. At this point, Alvarez is a pure money fight for Golovkin, it wouldn't be about facing the best MW opposition.

A lot of people want Golovkin to become a star, but that's when they'll see him fight less often, more protection/cherrypicked opposition, higher ticket prices and money spent on PPVs. Right now they see him 4 times a year, fighting the best MWs who will agree.

Imo from a fan perspective there's no rush to a big fight against obviously overmatched opposition (as I believe Cotto/Canelo would be).

At least potential opponents will have one less reason to turn the fight down.

I heard that HBO couldn't film in Monte Carlo. Something about their production truck couldn't fit in the main arena. Heard it while I was reviewing a thread. Safe to say anything is possible but, GGG has fought twice in Monte Carlo and HBO didn't film it. I remember Ishida and Oumma.
