anybody who gets in the ring with GGG seems to realise within one or two rounds that they simply can't beat the guy and either run till the drop a few rounds later or drop right then and there
Wasn't Ward supposed to move to 175 after clearing out 168
nah he just wants to sit there calling out smaller men. Demanding they move up in weight and go to his home town while taking a smaller percentage of the purse even though they are bigger stars than him.
GGG doesn't want to fight Ward yet not because he's scared or doesn't want none as you say but rather because he sees more attractive fights with Chavez, Canelo or Cotto in his future.
Don't pretend as if Ward wouldn't do the exact same thing if he was in GGG's shoes. Hell Ward for a long time was calling Chavez for a fight. When he realized he wasn't getting it and it looked like Froch was going to get it, he criticized Froch.
"Who can defeat Golovkin? Let us be honest with ourselves – no one in the middleweight division – not Miguel Cotto or Felix Sturm, Martin Murray or Matt Korobov, and he would also KO Alvarez, who hopefully will be steered away from Golovkin, and 2-3 clean punches will be enough to put the marathon runner Erislandy Lara away. The same would be true for Floyd Mayweather Jr, but really, it is an unfair fight, for Mayweather can make 140 pounds if necessary, and GGG hits like a heavyweight in the 160 pound division.
This leaves Carl Froch, Andre Ward, or Chavez Jr. Both Chavez Jr. and Froch have basically refused to fight him, Really, then, at this point, the only one worthy enough to share the ring with GGG between 154 and 168 is Ward. And who knows when and if he will ever fight again – he has hinted at retiring – which is not to say that Ward is ducking GGG, if anything the reverse is true, but it seem obvious that the outcome for anyone from 154 to 168 stepping into the ring with him (with the exception of Ward) would be a GGG KO." (Bob Smith...)
... But where was Ward last night? Anywhere near the ring? ... Because I watched the fight on Sky Sports...
If Ward is so readily available to fight as he claims and wants to fight Golovkin so badly, why doesn't he send an offer? Give Golovkin something to turn down?Oh, that's right, he isn't readily available to fight. So everything he says until he is readily available to fight is bull****. It's easy to talk, but if you don't act on the talk it's just empty words.
I think Golovkin's team should reach out to Ward's people and see what that jackass would ask to make the fight. Probably 10 million dollars and PPV.
If Ward-GGG happens, rude awakening is an understatement.
As a HUGE, GIGANTIC & OBSESSIVE Andre Ward fan it's a tough pill for me to swallow but i don't see him enduring the punching power of Golovkin. I would love to think different but in my professional opinion i see GGG by stoppage in 6-8. Just my opinion.

Good post. Sadly i don't see Ward stepping up. Not because he's ducking him (Andre Ward has NO fear) but his hiatus has been too long and it seems as if he is pre-occupied with personal problems coupled with career advancement in another direction....commentary etc.

... Since Goossen passed away I didn't hear from Ward calling Golovkin through the media... I didn't see Ward last night near the ring... Was he there? because it would have been the best opportunity to openly call Golovkin under the spotlights... Did he do that? (I don't know because I watched the fight on Sky Sports and maybe they missed something...)

... Though Ward didn't fight Bute (when he was undefeated) or Stevenson -- they both called out Ward... To date both of them are shot and Ward is semi-retired...
Golovkin called out both ward and froch yesterday. So he is clearly willing to take that fight now. Read rafael's piece on it. Ward would not be golovkin's first choice as ward brings almost no money to that fight. Froch, in london, would be huge. Chavez jr would make a lot of money. So would golovkin cotto or alvarez. Ward not so much. Thus, while i think ggg would take the fight, it is the highest risk lowest reward fight out there. Certainly would not be his first choice. Ward would make that an ugly fight. If he had a ref that let him wrestle around, i would probably favor him. If not, he could not take golovkin's power. Ward got dropped hard in his fight on the mayweather mitchell undercard against a nobody. He fought awfully after that and got a questionable decision. Can't say that i would see him as too anxious to fight someone with such murderous power as ggg. Ggg is not very big. In was on the floor for tonight's fight and he walked right by me. He is probably 5'9". Ward would have a huge size advantage and would be very successful grapling the smaller ggg.
When people talk about this fight I'm always amazed they leave out the fact that Darnell Boone, a guy with less than a 50% ko rate, dropped ward hard. Ggg power is unreal and would certainly be able hurt ward, while ward has nothing to keep ggg off him. Ward can neutralize ggg strengths but I don't get why people are acting like he will just beat him easy.
So what. Boone KO'd Adonis Stevenson. **** happens.
