A Jones v. Calzaghe makes little sense unless...

If Joe and Mr. Waren come over to America and smoke Jones then it serves as a wonderful advertisement for the big upcoming fight with Toney Tarver.

Calzaghe is still relitively unkown here in the states, fighting Roy in this state of his career would be a walk in the park and it would set the stage for a real showdown.

I know Clinton Woods would be real big in Wales but cmon does anyone on the palanet think Woods is gonna beat Joe? Roy aint gonna beat him either but Calzaghe needs the marketing before a fight with Tarver and Roy may be the perfect lamb to provide that marketing.

Thanks Roy-all we need from you is one more KO.

Yo if this fight happens which i hope it does because I am a big fan of Roy Jones, then i got RJJ with no bias. Calzaghe beat the **** out of Lacy who has a totally different style then RJJ. I got Roy by KO in ten.

The chances of Roy Ko-ing you let alone Calzaghe are zero.

Roy is not a serious fighter anymore, the faster you realize this the better off you will be.

Calzaghe will beat him down eerily similiar to the fashion in which Glenn Johnson beat him. (Roy cant handle someone who will go straight at him and attack)

If Roy has any shot at all he will have to let his hands go for 12 rounds, meaning he needs to throw 50-60-70 punches a round to keep Joe off-at this stage that is impossible.

Roy Jones has looked like ass for a couple years now, and Calzaghe put on the best performance of his career last week, arguably. Calzaghe will pick Jones apart at this point of his career, and I could easily see Roy getting stopped. If Jones was in his prime, this would have Fight of the Year written all over it. Now, Calzaghe's going to use Jones as a stepping stone, and to collect a fat paycheck. I won't criticize Joe for this, he's earned it.

I hate to say it, but you're right. Roy throwing his hands for 12 rounds isn't going to happen. This is the same guy who was overcome with joy because Tarver didn't KO him in the last bout of their trilogy. Calzaghe doesn't knock guys out with one punch, he wears them down with flurry after flurry; however, I could see him KO'ing Jones with one big shot, because Jones is shot.

Ditto that I like watching Roy being KO'd myself-it makes me feel real good inside.

the fight should happen because Joe has wanted him for years, and it will be a great fight while it lasts, styles make fights even if this is a 'shot' Roy Jones, its a big pay day for Joe and a big name on his resume and sets a Tarver fight up nicely.
