In other words "If we go late into the rounds or don't ko Rubio", it was because "we needed rounds"...Don't worry Golovkin, Rubio will quit before the halfway mark just as he did against Pavlik.
I'm not certain Golovkin 'needs' rounds from a boxing perspective, he doesn't seem the type either to lose focus or to slack off in training. However, looking less than invincible would definitely help him get the biggest fights. Swings and roundabouts.
Also, is the undercard televised anywhere at all? I don't mean Donaire-Walters, I mean the sort of stuff that gets put on toprank.tv; anyone know?
He needs live rounds, not sparring rounds - live rounds you are in there thinking, exerting energy. Sparring you are working on certain aspects of your repertoire or game plan - GGG needs rounds - fatigue makes a coward out of everyone
