BoxingScene.com recently reported that the International Boxing Federation ordered Katsunari Takayama (27-7, 10KOs), ranked at number 3, number 4 ranked Jose Argumedo (13-3-1, 7KOs), to fight each other for the IBF mini-flyweight championship.

Negotiations were ordered to start immediately, and to be completed by October 31, or a purse bid will be ordered.

But now a contract dispute has broken out and knocked Argumedo out of the eliminator.

I would say this is a case of promoters taking advantage of a fighter but it sorta sounds like the fighter willingly shot himself in the foot on this.
