surprised nobody mentioned hopkins-tarver or RJJ-toney. i didn't personally enjoy watching them get humbled as i'm a fan of both guys, just surprised nobody else did.
benn against watson was sweet though, because benn deserved it but also because it made him a better fighter and possibly person as well.
vargas was alright as was haye, especially against thompson since it made him a better fighter.
the all time best case of a fighter being humbled is the self proclaimed white hope james jeffries being beat down and knocked out by jack johnson after all his talk about how "all coons are yellow" and inferior in various other ways. dude wasnt just racist he was just plain arrogant towards whites as well.
lara and hopkins both thought they won those fights so they weren't humbled in the least, just pissed off at a perceived injustice. personally i agree, but even if you don't it doesn't change their view of the situation.
was trinidad really that egotistical? i got the feeling he was more saddened feeling he had let everyone down. he wasnt really a big talker, only reason he engaged against hopkins was because BHop got him started.Comment
