Looking forward to the Mexican from Khaz, the Great Triple G to do his thang on the other good Mexican Rubio to set up the Checkmate on the winner of the hopeful match Cotto vs Canelo.

If that is so, then isn't it in fact smart management? These guys are in there #1 to make enough to carry them thru their life 'after boxing'. I don't blame them a bit for that, except obviously in Floydie's case when he's set for life and is obviously chicken of Pac.
Having said that, I think a GGG/Ward fight will eventually happen... and would certainly answer a lot of questions about both fighters.

This is a quandary... who next for GGG? Will it be a short list of current MW champs dropping belts to avoid him, then a series of matchups of top 10s vs GGG for those vacated belts? Or will most or all current MW champs take their chances vs him? There is a storm brewing in the division... should be great for we fans watching the resulting fights.

Murray been building himself up in Monaco, on of GGG"s stomping grounds.
Good relationship with GG promoter Berman
If GGG wins, he's the WBC interim champion.... meaning everything will pretty much get clogged up to him in terms of WBC mandatory. Murray and Macklin/Heiland winner.... most likely just mandatory fights for GGG instead of CottoComment

What hasn't transpired is GGG getting the right offer to move up and fight Ward which his management said they were hoping for. Now he has a fight with Rubio coming up and what looks like a clear path to unifying the middleweight titles.Comment

Murray seems like the logical choice for Golovkin's Monaco fight in Jan/Feb, especially since he'll be the guest of honor at Murray's fight with Spada, but I don't know if it'll happen. Murray's backed out numerous times already, though his stock has taking a hit after the performances in his last three fights. Could see Murray-Macklin instead. Then there's also the issue of whether HBO will be involved, Loeffler made it sound like they might not be, though Hershman said the incident from last year would never happen again.Murray in Monaco.... book it

If not Murray, maybe Chudinov for his WBA mando. Hyrunov made it sound like Danny Jacobs's people are refusing to negotiate for their fight (see Haymon moving everyone over to the IBF). After Murray/Chudinov in Jan/Feb, then probably Korobov/Lee in April/May?Comment

Let's not start the "Ward is ducking GGG" and vice versa argument again. GGG plainly said that Ward is too much for him at this point, and that he won't be fighting him for the time being. I see no issue with that, as he's busy conquering his own division, as he should be doing. He'll fight Ward when he's ready.
Andre Ward has wins over all top opposition at 168, and has been so dominant (despite being inactive due to contractural problems) that a lot of people on this site have went so far as to say he's ducking guys in the division above him.
Long story short, neither of these guys are ducking anybody.Last edited by doom_specialist; 10-14-2014, 06:54 PM.Comment
