Well, not really, cos he's mainly fought out of Russia, but the win over Aydin was second feature the JMM - Alvarado card and he's certainly now regarded as a top 10 JWW. Just depends how closely you follow the sport or the division.

He ain't hugely well known, but he was the first guy to stop Aydin (and dominated him far more thoroughly than Guerrero or Soto Karass) so the win garnered him a bit of attention.

FWIW he also beat a very old DeMarcos Corley and, more impressively, Hank Lundy.

If you missed Alvarado vs JMM, though, there probably isn't much other reason you would have heard of him.

I saw it but Aydin is terrible, I see no reason to find this fight appealing at all, it's decent at best.
