Comments Thread For: Lucas Browne-Chanucy Welliver on November 12th

AUSSIE ****er Lucas "Big Daddy" Browne plans on becoming the first man to knock teak tough Chanucy Welliver off his feet when they clash next month.

Unbeaten Browne defends his WBC EPBC crown against the New Zealand-based American on the undercard of the massive Mundine v Rabchenko bill at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne on November 12.

As Browne is ranked in the top ten by three of the four main sanctioning bodies, this fight presents a potential banana skin on his route to a world title shot in 2015. [Click Here To Read More]

the last time I saw welliver he wasn't down in the 230s. he retired from injury against 49 year old billy wright if I remember correctly. it's not a surprise as welliver fights & promotes in that region. when he fought wright he was back to his old flabby 280-290lbs. I don't know what kind of shape he is in now but that fight is 4 weeks away. I see browne winning but he better not underestimate welliver because he can box. this does nothing for browne but keeps him busy & gets him some rounds.

Browne should be defending his Commonwealth title against Alex Leapai.

          Man, that's crazy.

I was thinking, is that the same Billy Wright that got knocked out by Michael Moorer and Frans Botha back in the early nineties, and I looked him up on boxrec and it's him!

          He's still fighting!

          Weighs 300 ****ing pounds.

          Holy crap.
