Where's your proof the source backtracked? It's not twisting...it's playing devils advocate. Things aren't always as they seem...people can say and act to whats politically correct and influenced by ulterior motives.. anything is possible just like Pac and floyd amd most boxers take PEDs....it'd not so farfetched. Pac would destroy them both there was no point for him fighting them, even Floyd wasclowned for fighting such a low level fighters as them, just as people are clowning Pac now for fighting Algieri. That's why I clearly said "a certain style fighters with a certain skill level", the two go toghether. Well speaking of bad style match ups, you could argue that Algieri is a difficult stylistic match up for Pac. You see what I'm trying to say?

MANILA, Philippines – If Freddie Roach would have his way, he’ll pick Robert Guerrero as Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent for the Filipino’s April 12 fight in Las Vegas.

Although it has been reported that Pacquiao is eyeing a rematch with Timothy Bradley for his ring return, Roach believes knocking out Guerrero – a previous victim of Floyd Mayweather Jr. – will put them in a better position for a showdown with the pound-for-pound king.

“There's a couple of other guys out there right now that I'm thinking about that are free agents. You look at Mayweather's last like four fights and so forth, if we can fight one of those guys that he went the distance with and knock that person out and be impressive, it puts us even closer to Mayweather because that's the fight we really want eventually,” Roach said in an interview with boxing website secondsout.com.

Guerrero (31-2-1, with 18 knockouts), who has won titles at feather, super featherweight, lightweight and welterweight, tried but failed to deal Mayweather his first career loss in May last year. He used to spar with Pacquiao, and Roach thinks a fight between them could be a barnburner.

“[Robert] Guerrero has sparred with Manny many times and he thinks he gets the best of Manny. He's made that public before that he used to beat Manny up in sparring. I see it a different way, but I would love that fight and I think it's a great fight,” the bespectacled trainer explained.

You mean the same maidana whos best win at 147 lbs is against.....broner... who by the way, had only his 2nd fighter at ww against....maidana. Difference is, pac fights who his promoter puts in front, floydie is his own boss and picks his fighters.

Actually, Manny turned down the biggest fight. One man makes offers, the other accepts. Floyd accepted Oscar's Offer, Cotto accepted Floyd's offer. Canelo accepted Floyd's Offer. Manny turned down Floyd's offer, and re-signed with Arum, and now he's fighting Chris Algeri. 'Nuff said!

Manny picked the promoter who killed the fight in 2012, and puts Algeri in front of him. Floyd accepted Oscar's offer, just like Cotto accepted Floyd's offer. That Maidana was WBA Welterweight Champion with 31 KOs. Algeri is the Jr. Welterweight Champion with 8 KOs, and they're fighting at a CW that Manny asked for. You need to stop!
