Here's the thoughts of a Cuban referee with two decades of experience both in the ring as a ref for dozens of world championship fights, and outside as a referee seminar instructor for the WBA, WBO, and Association of Boxing Commissions.
Some Commissions' rules don't clearly prohibit a boxer from turning their back to an opponent or ducking their head in an unsafe manner. Should these practices be allowed? No. Why not? It could lead to a foul or injury and simply put, that is not boxing.Comment

... Andre Ward is the only P4P fighter who would annihilate Rigo's style... Ward annihilates everything...Comment

If he'd use his skills to attack more he'd do way better numbers.
He still thinks outboxing is enough like in the amateurs, while in prizefighting other assets are important.
But hey, smaller fighters are always on the lower end of things, nobody watches Hekkie Budler or Inoue and HBO and SHO are not getting into them anytime soon.Comment

As talented as Rigo is, he's an aquired taste. If you compare him to music, watching him fight is like attending a jazz concert. Not very exciting but its appreciated by those who have an ear for it. I can see how he could appeal to fans of golf.Comment
