Froch doesn't owe this sport a damn thing anymore. He's earned the right to do whatever the hell he wants.

I understand Mexican fans buy fights based on their admiration for names rather than actually believing those fighters are great... but Chavez Jr. has a terrible work ethic... you'll have to worry about him making weight... you'll have to worry about him pulling out of the fight for a promotional conflict... so many reasons to be concerned about making that fight..

But if it can be made it would sell, but Froch is professional and should jab Chavez to death and take a wide UD...

He's down to the last fight or two of a HOF career. He's been the best example in the sport for some 6 years now of a warrior, a fighter who gives the fans consistently great fights against the best opponents. He should be able to fight whoever he wants to end his career, and no one should be criticizing him over it.

And you know what? He will fight DeGale if that's the fight to make. Because he is just that kind of fighter.

Froch is stalling for as long as possible hoping something comes off with Chavez Jr. He'll almost certainly fight DeGale as a last resort especially if DeGale looks good against Periban
