Indeed they will trade but gatti is the bigger harder punching man, with the better chin and has mad heart. All those wars gatti was in and will be in must be really bad for your health.Originally posted by FloydmayweatherGatti and Leija will trade and Gatti will win end of story.Comment

Don't get caught on a fighter's record because I've seen many undefeated fighters who are garbage and some who've lost almost as much as they've won (Emanuel Augustus comes to mind) who are very good and very tough. Records are deceaving.Originally posted by deuskieCan someone give me credentials of Leija. He has lost all his major fights including fights to Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosley, and Kostya Tszyu. What makes you think that he will beat a fighter who is at his best right now. Leijas last 4 fights included fighters with records of 16-1, 13-7, 17-4, and 16-4. In fact his entire career is filled with fights with second class fighters. All of his major fights have resulted in a loss. He is 3 inches smaller than Gatti, and we all remember what happened last time a smaller fighter, Dorin at 4 inches smaller fought Gatti. His reach is also shorter. Gatti too, has had some losses in his career including to de la Hoya. However his last fights with Dorin (22-0) and Branco (32-0), had great records at the times he fought them, show that Gatti is really in his prime right now. It seems that they are very similiar fighters in how their careers have shaped out, however with the reach and heigh advantage I give Gatti the edge in this fight.
I think Gatti will pull this one out but by no means am I counting Leija out. Everyone thought it would be an easy night for Mojado (get it? lol) but it ended up going Leija's way. Look for Leija to go all 12 rounds and he might even pull it out if Gatti hurts his hand(s) in this one.Comment

These two have similar records, and I cant see how anyone can favor one over the other based on their records alone. They both have 6losses,and their common opponents are Ruelas,DLH and Ivan Robinson.Leija actually has more wins(47) than Gatti(38).Originally posted by PRboxingfanDon't get caught on a fighter's record because I've seen many undefeated fighters who are garbage and some who've lost almost as much as they've won (Emanuel Augustus comes to mind) who are very good and very tough. Gattis 6 Losses: Soloman,Manfredy,Robinson(x2),DLH,Ward
Leija 6 Losses: Ruelas,DLH,Nelson,Mosely,Lazcano,Tszyu
I honestly think this fight is 50/50.I like both fighters but since 95% of you think this is a easy win for Gatti,i'l have to go with Leija.Comment

While what you say is true, Leija is a much older fighter in the twilight of his career while Gatti is still relatively fresh and newly rejuvinated with McGirt in his corner. I see it as a dificult task for Leija to outbox Gatti but, then again, if he comes in in top shape he has a very good chance at the upset.Originally posted by jpboxer3These two have similar records, and I cant see how anyone can favor one over the other based on their records alone. They both have 6losses,and their common opponents are Ruelas,DLH and Ivan Robinson.Leija actually has more wins(47) than Gatti(38).

The smart money is on Gatti but it should by no means be a blowout.Comment
