Gatti is to big of a puncher Leija leaves himself open somtimes in exchanges and it will be his downfall.

Gatti is the bigger, more powerful guy, and he boxes pretty good now that he is with Buddy McGirt, but JLL can surprise and he has a lot of experience. He just knows how to win. My pick is Gatti, but I wouldn't be surprised if JLL manages to beat me.

I know Gatti is the favorite but I kinda like Leija to pull off the upset. He showed he can still fight against ojada. Gatti is a better fighter but I think Leija may rise to the occasion and win by a very close decision.

Can someone give me credentials of Leija. He has lost all his major fights including fights to Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosley, and Kostya Tszyu. What makes you think that he will beat a fighter who is at his best right now. Leijas last 4 fights included fighters with records of 16-1, 13-7, 17-4, and 16-4. In fact his entire career is filled with fights with second class fighters. All of his major fights have resulted in a loss. He is 3 inches smaller than Gatti, and we all remember what happened last time a smaller fighter, Dorin at 4 inches smaller fought Gatti. His reach is also shorter. Gatti too, has had some losses in his career including to de la Hoya. However his last fights with Dorin (22-0) and Branco (32-0), had great records at the times he fought them, show that Gatti is really in his prime right now. It seems that they are very similiar fighters in how their careers have shaped out, however with the reach and heigh advantage I give Gatti the edge in this fight.

I think that this fight will be fought to the end with Gatti coming out ahead in a close decision. Leija will come out and look to attack Gatti who be trying his best to stay with his plan which is to move and box his way to winning. Eventually, say round 4-6, Gatti will come back to the person that we know and love. He will begin trading heavy blows, and I think that the last 3-4 rounds of this fight may possibly become an all-out slugfest. Definitely a fan's fight, picking Gatti by UD, setting up him and PBF if he ain't in jail this sumnmer.

James bleeds more than Gattti....more than anyone actually. It will be stopped on cuts in the mid rounds. Gatti wins...James gets another scar.

This fight is pretty meaningless in a sense that these are two second-tier fighter. But to a boxing purist, this is a fight we love because these guys are so closely matched. Don't get hooked up on records because Dorin and Branco are garbage. This will be a great fight.

Gatti has all the physical advantages in this one, and he tends to do very well when he has these. Unless he starts getting old in this fight, I don't think Leija can match up...
