He's right when you think about it. Canelo could have made a lot of new fans if he'd performed better, but he didn't really lose anything.

He's still a star, and the way he's bounced back has allowed him to recover any lost momentum.

I disagree with Oscar. I applaud Canelo for being a game fighter and willing to take on the best but at the highest level but Canelo doesn't have the skills to compete with superior boxers.

Floyd was a smaller guy at the end of his career, who has obviously lost a step and he put on a clinic vs Canelo. I would expect that most elite boxers in and around 160 who can take a punch will put an L on Canelo's record.

Also since Oscar made it his job to become his talk box, Oscar's haters generated toward Canelo, canelo doesn't have the skill, woman fanbase or fanbase period to deal with this level of hate and criticism, how do a fighter who was a part of a 2.3 ppv number, be relegated back to regular TV in less than a years time.........

          Oscar ruined Canelo big time..........................
Great points. Oscar is one set back away from is personal friends. ( drugs )

Yup, Oscar sees the writing on the wall, and he's trying to convince himself otherwise....

They put all their eggs into the Canelo basket and all he had to do was deliver a December performance vs a brother(Kirkland, Clottey), to erase the picture of what fans have seen about Canelo his whole career, and that is how he looked average vs technically skilled fighters and he couldn't step up to the plate and deliver, he pump faked and weaseled his way out of both matches......

What makes Canelo/Oscar believe that the buying public will buy this PPV with the taint of Canelo nearly losing to a fighter that threw like 10 punches a round; what makes people think Cotto can't replicate that, not only is Canelo ruined to a degree, Oscar basically blew a sure thing PPV, and they want to put that up against Floyd too, what is Oscar smoking......I'm not sure if the relapse hasn't already happened

Oscar's meddling and ego is ruining this fight...........................
not so fast fanboy, canelo is looking for a dance partner on may at vegas, if cotto rejects his offer again then chavez jr it is... people forget when canelo showed his middle finger to floyd, and told him i can make a career without a floyd fight, right after that floyd offers canelo the fight...

Hoping they go against Mayweather for both May and September dates, I would be laughing when it's all said and done.
