And how about he just fights his mando.. a fight that most were more than happy with - and then fights who uncle Al 'the fighters pal' tells him to?I'm not defending anyone. I'm just a fan and i was extremely dissapointed in Danny's last two fights. History (Khan, Matthysse etc) has shown us that Danny can step up to the big plate. You guys always make it seem as if all of Swift's 29 opponents where Rod Salka kind of fighters. Let's just not get ahead of ourselves and complain about something we don't know about. Let's wait for the official announcement of Garcia's opponent and then give our opinions.
About "Swift not controlling his carreer". Danny is a fighter not an executive. The only way Danny can control his carreer is by going to the gym and giving it all he has to be ready for whoever they put in front of him.
It ain't so tough - one of the few benefits of the ABCs (corrupt as shit though they may be) is that they occasionally force fighters to fight guys they'd rather not or they take their titles away.
Do away with that quaint old tradition and all you've got is a piece of leather that's so pointless it won't even hold your pants up.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 10-11-2014, 06:44 PM.Comment

You see it, Danny can't make 140 and chew gum at the same time. I bet nobody gets paid anything like step aside money, if that means Danny has to make 140 again. I don't care who he fights.Comment

He hasn't been looking too good on the scales since the Matthysse fight. It's clear that he should give WW a shot, and he said that was his plan, so what is the hold up? It sucks that all these boxers are just pawns on Haymon's chess board.Comment

I think he's gonna fight Peterson in a unification match. Why else wouldn't he just dump the belts if he wasn't planning on fighting at 140 again??? Would save Haymon the money he just have Postol. If he just dumped the belts, Postol would go on wit his business and Danny would fight at a higher weight than 140. By doing this, I think he's sticking around jr ww.Comment

Let's see who Haymon picks for Danny's next fight.
It's OK for cats like Haymon to maximize his profits through politics and step-aside money. Promoters do it all the time. But with such blatant disregard (read: abuse) towards fans, boxing journalists need to step up their game.Comment

Spoken like true Haymon disciple. It's just a business right?
A lineal champion should have a say in their own career. Keith Thurman is one of the only Haymon fighters who doesn't stick to the script and actually calls out who he wants to fight. And they're not the Rod Salka types.Comment
