I'm not sure why people think Canelo is so good, he's arguably lost 3 of his last 4 fights. He hasn't fought any top notch competition except for Floyd and he looked lost in there, which is why he gets taken to school by Cotto. 9-3 UD for Cotto it'll be a clear cut decision and the reason is because Canelo is limited and overrated. He's a plodder who can't cut off the ring, with decent power and combinations. Put head to head with Cotto the only advantage Canelo has is power and possibly his chin but he's still never been in the ring with anyone who can crack. Trout, Lara, Floyd and shot to **** Angulo do not hit hard and everyone else he fought has been from a weight division below him.

Cotto has far better footwork, ring generalship and ring IQ which is the main difference. Cotto is just a better fighter in every aspect than Canelo, he can pressure better than the ginger and he certainly can box better than him, I just don't see how Canelo can win unless it's by KO. Which is a real possibility because Cotto doesn't have a great chin but I would make Cotto like a 3:1 favorite.

Chavez Jr. dont know what hes is talking about. Cotto can make 154 comfortably, it is Canelo whos having more problems making weight and hes also physically bigger than Cotto. But i think Cotto is the better fighter and would win.

I feel Canelo wins in this fight do to youth and size, Cotto won't be like Floyd, he will stay in the pocket and get hit in return, it will be a good boxing style slug fest the best way to discribe it! it could end in a knock out or go all 12 rounds, but anything can happen if one lands flush.

I don't think Canelo is losing this fight. I don't think Cotto stops him, and remember how a judge scored the Mayweather-Canelo fight a draw? It's too bad for boxing, but my guess is that Cotto ends up outboxing ginger and losing a split decision...

Exactly my view of this fight, but with a different ending. Canelo gets schooled but wins on a split decision. He is the future of the sport right now, not Cotto.

Advantage of youth is superficial, as proven so many times, so lets scratch that as an advantage. What is Canelo left with? The possibility of power? well didnt Mayweather insinuate Cotto is the harder puncher when he said Cotto hits harder then Maidana, Mayweather then say's even Canelo hit harder which would imply Cotto was the hardest puncher of the three. So power might be even to possibly Cotto having the edge. Next is Canelos speed when throwing combos, which is the only time he has any type of speed, and if you think Cotto is going to stick around while Canelo flurries a flat footed combo, then you havent been paying attention. Canelos jab is slow, his counters are slow, his feet and ring movement is slow. Less experience, low ring IQ, horrible corner. Cotto has every advantage except for youth which is not really an advantage, power is up in the air. I would be surprised if Canelo won.
