  • Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux's Co-Promoter Lashes Out at Manager Hyde

Caribe Promotions head Boris Arencibia, the co-promoter of WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9KOs), has lashed out at the comments which recently appeared on BoxingScene.com from the Cuban boxer's manager, Gary Hyde.

Rigondeaux's promotional contract recently expired with Top Rank. There were promotional offers from Roc Nation and Frank Warren, but neither of the two were able to reach an agreement with Caribe.

Hyde said Caribe was being problematic in the discussions.

Why does Rigo have a damn co-promoter and a manager?

I tend to side with Hyde and not caribe
Caribe's statement is ******. Why would a manager be concerned with technical aspects of boxing? He's not the trainer .

I'm not clear on why Hyde not watching Rigo spar is the reason Caribe can't reach an agreement with other promoters.

Makes no sense that Hyde would make up a story about the offer from Roc and Warren; Rigo's not getting any younger and his constant promotional issues have been a hindrance to his career.

Damn, if only caribe was not involved...Rigo would be making bank.

What's the point of having them as a co-promoter if they have to find another promoter to get him fights/money?

I smell complete B.S here. Rigo has no offers over $200,000,period. If he did then he would jump at it. ROC NATION wants to make a splash with a BIG fight and an exciting title match-up. They don't want Rigo on Unimas or ESPN the Ocho.

Rigos done. Caribe can't do anything for him and nobody will work with them.
