Lets get Emanuel Augustus a Big Pay Day!

I think this man deserves it. His fights are always entertaining and he has been around for a while. He has also given many top fighters their toughest fights. I would like to see Augustus face Hatton ( this could be good b/c they both stopped Ray Oliveira. Or maybe a fight w/ Castillo or Cotto. GIVE THIS MAN HIS PAYDAY THAT HE DESERVES! what do u guys think?

I'm all for it also but it is his fault for being an "entertainer first and a figther second" early in his career, he said that himself. But I think he needs a good payday before he retires. I fight with Hatton would be rediculous, can you imagine the amount of punches these guys will throw.

This is true, alot of his losses came up b/c of his 'drunken praying mantis' style of fighting but damn it is fun to watch, a Hatton fight would be great wouldnt it?? I mean Augustus isnt a household name but it is better than most of the names Ive seen thrown around for Hatton's next opponet. It would be a good gauge fight for Hatton since PBF beat Augustus sometime back and PBF said Emanuel is his toughtest fight. I would like to see Hatton fight Emanuel in his debut in USA, especally if Hatton is to draw around 20,000 ppl, it would be nice to see Augustus get a nice piece of that gate.

I just want to see Augustus got out the way Micky Ward did.

Funny thing is, you could offer Emmanuel $200 and a bong-rip, and he'd be ready for a 10-rounder vs. a top-10 contender within a week

No doubt, Augustus is one hell of an entertainer and if this fight happens I'll go nuts. I'll be rooting for Augustus but chances are he will lose. It's got fight of the year written all over it IMO.

In a perfect world I would love to see Augustus get a big payday before his career is over but tell me something folks...

What big fight do you really wanna see him involved with?

He is not on par with the 140 pound elite, this is fact.

Maybe he could get a decent payday with Gatti but I dont know if he is even in Gatti's league based upon both mens performances against Leo Dorin.

What big fight do want to see EA in with? I'd love to hand the guy 1 million bucks and say thanks for the hard work but I dont think he deserves a shot at any of the divisions elite.

You make a good point. I think he would be competitive with some of the upper echelon guys, but being competitive and winning are two different things. I think the Augustus-Gatti idea's a pretty good one, but I don't see him beating Gatti. Gatti generally wins the fights he's supposed to, and loses when expected. Augustus was beaten by Micky Ward pretty convincingly. I wish he could get that big payday, but losing to guys like Courtney Burton won't get you there. The way Cotto's camp's protecting him right now, Augustus could cash in on that sweepstakes.
